Fusion08: General Information

LOCATION: Chicago Room, 2nd floor of the Chicago History Museum, 1601 North Clark Street. Chicago, Illinois 60614-6038, USA.

OPENING HOURS: The Museum is open 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Wednesday. On
Thusday and Friday we have to leave the Chicago Room before 3 PM.

PARKING: The Museum has a parking lot in Lincoln Park, just north of the Museum, on
Stockton Drive; see http://chicagohistory.org/planavisit/visitorinformation/parking
The parking fee is $ 9 per day if the ticket has been validated by the Museum. We have reserved 20 parking spaces for FUSION08.

REGISTRATION DESK is outside the Chicago Room, on the second floor of the Chicago
History Museum. Registration starts at 8:30 AM Monday, Sept. 22.

COFFEE will be served Monday morning from 9:00 AM. Normal coffee breaks are 10:00 - 10:30 AM and 3:30 - 4:00 PM. The sessions will end around 1:00 PM on Thursday and Friday.

SPONSOR EXHIBITS will be inside the Chicago Room.

BANQUET: The conference banquet is a dinner buffet, which will be served during a cruise on Lake Michigan, from 6:30 to 10:00 PM on Thursday, September 25. The scientific program will end in the early afternoon that day and the rest of the afternoon will be free. We have reserved the Vista Deck on the Mystic Blue Cruise ship, which departs from the South side of Navy Pier. The boarding time is 6:30 PM. If you want to join the cruise and have not already signed up, please ask at the registration desk
if tickets are still available. The combined price for cruise and dinner is 80 US$.

BUS SERVICE: Please note the updated bus schedule! We will provide bus service between Days Inn and the conference site, the Chicago History Museum, in the morning and in the afternoon at the end of the program (Hotel Belden-Stratford and Seneca are within walking distance.) We will use two buses because many participants stay at Days Inn. The first bus will leave Days Inn 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The second bus (if necessary) will leave Days Inn 8:10 AM, also Monday through Friday. In the afternoon, buses will leave the History Museum at 5:45 PM, and again at 6:20 PM, Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday buses will leave the History Museum at 1:15 PM and again at 1:45 PM. The ride should take about 10 minutes.
