Applying the Bloch-Horowitz Equation to s- and p-shell nuclei
I describe the current status of the Bloch-Horowitz (BH) formalism in
nuclear many-body calculations. I present results for s- and certain
p-shell nuclei using the leading-order perturbative expansion of BH, and
make comparisons with GFMC and No-Core shell model (NCSM) results. I
elaborate on the shortcomings of this formalism and stress the need for
incorporating a mean-field-like interaction into future calculations using
BH.
