Proton Structure functions from large N QCD
I will describe work done in collaboration with S. G. Rajeev on
understanding the structure of the baryon in two dimensional QCD. The main
approximation is the limit of a large number of colors. The picture that
emerges allows us to derive a model of relativistic interacting quarks and
anti-quarks from an exact soliton description of the baryon. This will
then be used to propose a model for the non-perturbative momentum fraction
dependence of structure functions of the nucleon. The momentum transfer
(Q2) dependence is perturbative. These predictions are compared with
experimental measurements of the F3 structure function in neutrino
nucleon deep inelastic scattering.
