GammaSphere backup policy

Only data relevant for the operation of GammaSphere are backed up on a regular basis. Disks that are used by users for their offline and online sorting are not in general backed up by GammaSphere personel. Users are expected to backup their programs and data at the end of their experiments and release the diskspace.

The following disks are critical to GammaSphere operations and are backed up on a regular basis:

"/export/home/gam2" contains the "devel" directory as well as a copy of the "prod" directory. The VXI processors take their inputs from this directory.

This machine is the now the ypserver. This machine may play a bigger role as a 4.1.4 server in the future. "/export/home/home_gam" contains the prod directory where the VME processors boot from as well as the informix detector database
