I will review some current efforts to directly calculate the strange quark contribution to nucleon form factors from simulations of lattice QCD. In particular I will present our initial results for the scalar, electric and axial form factors obtained from simulations with only up and down sea quarks and discuss our ongoing efforts to improve on these results using simulations that also contain a strange sea quark.
