The breakup of halo nuclei is studied by solving numerically the time-dependent Schr�dinger equation on a three-dimensional mesh in spherical coordinates. Applications to the Coulomb and nuclear breakup of 11Be and 8B on 208Pb and 12C are presented. The role of resonances and the importance higher-order effects are discussed.
