The talk will review the physics of climate change and the status of climate models used for climate projections given a trajectory of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. A new generation of climate models include interactive carbon dynamics, and project the co-evolution of CO2 and climate given a fossil fuel CO2 emission scenario. The models project a positive feedback between atmospheric CO2 and climate change, as the capacities of the land and oceans to absorb CO2 will decrease with global warming.
