The p-Shell: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
Physics Division Colloquium - 11 Nov 2005

The p-shell is still of interest because of continuing experimental activity and because it is a testing ground for ab initio calculations. I will give an overview of p-shell spectra, discuss the underlying symmetries, then move on to the beginning of the sd-shell, particle-hole states, weak coupling of p- and sd-configurations, neutron-rich light nuclei, and p-shell hypernuclei.
