Illusions are a wonderful window into perception, because they can reveal the hidden constraints of the perceptual system in a way that normal perceptual processes do not. In this lecture, I will present a variety of powerful and surprising illusions, many not seen before, which reveal important insights into how we construct an accurate mental representation of our external world.
