Band 1

This was the first superdeformed band reported in the A=190 region (see ref. 1). The band is associated with the favored N=7 (j15/2) configuration. Reference 1 reports an average transition quadrupole moment for the band of 18 +/- 3 eb and an intensity relative to the 191Hg channel of 2%.

A comparison of the transition energies from ref. 1 and ref. 3 is given in the following table.
