The 18th International Workshop on ECR Ion Sources was held in Chicago, Illinois USA from September 15-18, 2008. The workshop was hosted by Argonne National Laboratory and held near downtown Chicago at the Chicago History Museum.

The workshop focused on the latest developments in performance, modeling and applications of ECR ion sources and the associated physics and technology of those sources including plasma physics, beam optics and magnet technology.
