Ab-initio calculations of ground states and excited states of nuclei are needed for understanding and predicting nuclear phenomena. From a comparison of experimental data with accurate calculations where the only ingredient is the nuclear Hamiltonian we can gain a deeper understanding of the strong force and of three-body forces. Hyper-spherical harmonics provide a valuable framework for precision calculation of light nuclei. Predictions from modern Hamiltonians, including chiral effective field theory potentials, can be obtained. I will report on recent calculations for 6He and on some preliminary results of the 4He electron scattering reaction.
