Resolution of the proton spin problem

We know that the sum of the quark spins contributes only about 1/3 of the proton's spin. We have recently learned that the contribution from polarized glue to the spin observable is not very large. Using valence quarks plus some well known nucleon structure ideas, we give a consistent explanation of the proton (and neutron) spin observable.
