Coupled-channel meson resonances from QCD


I'll present recent progress on determining properties of meson resonances, decaying into multiple final states, using lattice QCD. I'll show that the S-matrix as a function of scattering energy can be extracted from the discrete spectrum of eigenstates of QCD in the finite volume defined by the lattice. The illustrative example of the a0 resonance, which appears as a sharp enhancement in pi-eta scattering at the K-Kbar threshold, will be one focus of the talk.
