LeCroyHV4032 Computer Control

Software is available for the control of the two LeCroy HV4032A High Voltage systems used to control the bias of the Compton suppressor shields of the germanium and LEPS detectors. To use the utilities, execute a "set command" as:

     set command u19:[bgo.command]hv.cld

(do this in your login.com file). This is equivalent to the initial set command call one must do in order to use the DAPHNE system. Once the hv.cld file has been processed, the following commands are available for HV control:

get_hv; (get_hv "mainframeadr" "ch"). Reads the voltage on channel "ch" in LeCroy HV4032A with mainframe address "mainframeadr"
set_hv;(set_hv "mainframeadr" "ch" "volts"). Sets the voltage "volts" on channel "ch" in LeCroy HV4032A with mainframe address "mainframeadr"
save_hv; (save_hv "file") saves ALL the voltages into a file (format: mainframe address,channel,voltage. The file can be edited)
restore_hv; (restore_hv "file") restores ALL the voltages in the file specified (same format as generated by save_hv)

The following assumptions are made:

Port 8 of the Equinox terminal server @ FMA is connected to the Kinetics Systems Crate controller in the mini Camac crate. The Crate controller has address "4"
The first LeCroy HV4032A frame has address "1" and the last frame has address "16".
Port 8 of the Equinox terminal server is available as lat port LTA8208.
The LeCroy 2132 module is in slot 1 of the mini Camac module.
A file called "hv.limits" must be present in the directory where the utilities are called from. The purpose of this file is to limit the voltage that the utilities can set on the LeCroy HV4032A modules.
The format of the file is (example):

```
Here the max voltage on channels 1 and 2 of the LeCroy HV4032A frame with mainframe address "1" has a limit of 600 Volts and channel 1 of the mainframe with address "16" has a limit of 900 Volts. All modules and channels that are not explicitly mentioned have limits of 0 Volts. I.e., you must edit this file to enable computer control of the voltages.
