The Challenging Role of the Nucleus in Neutrino Scattering Experiments
Argonne Physics Division Seminar - 8 Dec 2014
3:30 PM, Building 203 Auditorium

Neutrino oscillation experiments are currently evolving from the discovery to the precision stage and understanding the challenging role of the nucleus in neutrino nucleus interactions has now become essential. Neutrino experimentalists need to work closely with nuclear theorists to better understand not only the initial interaction of the neutrino with nucleon(s) within the nucleus, which of course involves the axial-vector current, but also what happens to the hadronic shower as it makes it way out of the nucleus and into the detector.
