Reaction spectroscopy with re-accelerated and relativistic beams of neutron-rich nuclei
Argonne Physics Division Seminar - 18 Apr 2011

Direct nuclear reactions are our laboratory means to view the arrangement of nucleons in neutron-rich isotopes. Reactions at two extreme ends of the energy scale provide us with different kinds of information. Recent investigations on light p-shell nuclei around N=8 with re-accelerated beams will be discussed. In the sd- pf- shell, spectroscopy through knockout reactions show how the occupation of the neutron orbitals evolve as one moves from N=16 to N=20 neutron-rich isotopes. The measurement of matter distribution as a probe to the behaviour of neutron-rich matter forming neutron skin will also be discussed.
