Exciting Physics with Dyson-Schwinger Equations
Physics Division Seminar - 8 Nov 2004 2004

I will report results of calculations of radiall excited meson states in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations. I will also discuss the implications of these results in the context of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking and confinement. In particular I will focus on the first radial excitation of the pion and pseudoscalar mesons in general, showing for example that, in the chiral limit, the leptonic decay constant must vanish for any pseudoscalar meson except the ground state pion.
