Neutron Stars, Supernova and Phases of Dense Quark Matter
Argonne Physics Division Seminar - 17 Jan 2005

Observations of neutron star masses, radii, cooling histories and early evolution subsequent to their birth in a supernova explosion could potentially shed light on the nature of matter at extreme density. I discuss how some these observations could be used to determine if neutron star interiors contain new phases of matter. In particular, I will review the phase structure of superconducting dense quark matter and highlight properties that would affect observable aspects of neutron stars.
