HERA ep colliding beam physics:current results and future prospects
Physics Division Colloquium - 5 Oct. 2001

The first phase of the HERA e-p colliding beam program at a cm energy of 300 GeV was completed in CY2000 with data sets of over 100 pb-1 for each of the two detectors H1 and ZEUS. Highlights of the results pertaining to proton structure, pion structure, QCD investigations and diffraction will be presented. A luminosity upgrade program is nearing completion with physics operation to start in early 2002. Prospects for physics at the fb-1 level will be discussed.
