Neutrons Against Cancer
Physics Division Colloquium - 17 Feb 2006

Sixty-six MeV protons from Fermilab's proton linac have been used to generate a clinical high-energy neutron therapy beam that has treated over 3000 patients since 1976. This talk will describe the facility, the biological effectiveness of the beam, and results of clinical trials. Plans for future research and development in conjunction with Northern Illinois University will also be presented.
