Physics Division Confined Spaces

Four Confined Spaces exist in Physics Division-occupied areas.  These are:

  1.   Confined Space # 85.    The Tandem Tank in ATLAS, Building 203, Room M024
    1. This confined space is entered periodically for maintenance, repair and upgrade activities.
    2. Don Phillips is responsible for this confined space.
    3. Access to this space is controlled by an approved ATLAS Procedure.
    4. Contact Don Phillips (2-4115) for information about, or if there is a need to enter, this confined space.
  1. Confined Space # 859     A pit in Building 203, Room H138
    1. This space is not in use.  Contact Tom Mullen (2-2879) for information about, or if there is a need to enter, this confined space.
  1. Confined Space #861    A pit in Building 208, Room B101
    1. This space is not in use.  Contact Tom Mullen (2-2879) for information about, or if there is a need to enter, this confined space.
  1. Confined Space # 1227     A trench beneath the Tandem Tank in Building 203, Room M024
    1. This confined space is entered periodically for testing of the ATLAS oxygen monitoring system.
    2. Don Phillips is responsible for this confined space
    3. Access to this space is controlled by an approved ATLAS Procedure
