Precision Data and Hints for Physics Beyond the SM

I will discuss the current status of the electroweak precision data, as measured by experiments at LEP and SLAC. The data shows a remarkable agreement with the Standard Model of particle physics, but contains some features which may be clues of new physics at high energies. I will introduce the measurements, examine the electroweak fit, and finally propose a candidate theory known as "Beautiful Mirrors" which tries to explain the anomalies in the measurements of the bottom quark asymmetries.
