The International Linear Collider � Where  it Stands

A brief description of the concept will be given as will a brief history of the linear collider  up to recent  times. The focus of the talk will be on the internationalization of the linear collider and on the technical  and organizational progress that has been made to date and planned for the near future.  A timeline for bringing the linear collider to the construction ready stage will be presented and discussed.
